Dr. Mari Thouvenelle
Dr. Thouvenelle began working at Small Animal Clinic in 1995. She graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University. She additionally obtained a Ph.D in Veterinary Pathology from Iowa State University. Dr. Thouvenelle and her husband live in Casa Grande with their wonderful Italian Greyhound, Gemma. She has enjoyed raising Guide Dog for the Blind puppies with her daughters.
Dr. Jerome Biwer
Dr. Biwer is originally from North Dakota. He graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State. He additionally has a Master of Science degree in Veterinary Pathology. Dr. Biwer lives with his wife in Casa Grande. He enjoys bee keeping and woodworking when he can. His favorite cat, Jordan, can be found supervising the Customer Service staff at the Small Animal Clinic.
Dr. Wendy Hancock
Dr. Wendy Hancock received her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Arkansas State University. She graduated from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. Dr. Hancock enjoys dermatology, dentistry, emergencies, and soft tissue surgery. She enjoys spending time with her pets, and is looking forward to finding new places to explore in the Casa Grande area.
Renee Lawson has over 22 years’ experience in the Veterinary field. She received her certification in 1998, and has been working for the Small Animal Clinic for over 16 years. Her passion for her patient’s health and well-being is always her first priority. Renee’ strives to treat every patient as if they were her own pets.
When she is not at the Small Animal Clinic Renee’ enjoys hunting and camping with friends and family. Renee’ strives towards continuing her education on the most current and best ways to serve her patients.
Gabby Flores is a Veterinary Assistant. She has been working with the Small Animal Clinic since 2013. Starting as a Kennel Technician and moving up to Veterinary Assistant. She attended Carrington College and received her certification for Veterinary Assistant. She enjoys road trips with her husband, going to the movies, and spending time with family.
Lacey Walters is a born and raised Arizona native and spent her school years in Casa Grande. She attended the Veterinary Assistant program at Apollo College after high school and started her career with the Small Animal Clinic in November 2005. Lacey was a Vet. Assistant for several years, but currently is part of our Customer Service Team!
Lacey loves working with animals and being able to help make pets and their owners feel comfortable and have a positive experience. She likes to draw blood, place IV catheters, and is very good with restraint. Although she’s not assigned as a Tech. Assistant, she still lends a hand when needed.
Donna Craven, Certified Practice Manager
Donna Craven is the Practice Manager at the Small Animal Clinic. She earned her BS/BA from the University of Phoenix in 2000, Certified Professional Bookkeeper from Universal Accounting in 2011. Donna and Wade live in Arizona City with their pets Rylee, Shelby, Bruce and Larry. They enjoy spending time with family, hiking and cheering on the Arizona Cardinals.
Dina Garland is a member of our Kennel staff. Dina completed her Veterinary Assistant training through San Juan College and will start the Technician program Fall 2017. Dina and her family moved to Casa Grande from Farmington, NM. Dina and her husband enjoy rebuilding their 55 Buick Special, going to swap meets, and taking their daughter to the zoo. “We love playing with our daughter as much as we can, and snuggling with our two cats, Mr. Meows & Pork Chop.”
Yessenia Torrez is a member the the SAC Customer service team. She is currently taking on line courses through DeVry University to earn her degree. Yessenia stays busy with her family and an American Bulldog named Chubby, and looks forward to meeting our SAC community.
Anthony Duran is a Veterinary Assistant and a new member of the Small Animal Clinic team. Anthony has been working as a Veterinary Assistant since August 2016 and enjoys all aspects of the job including patient treatment, client interaction, dental work, and surgery. Anthony enjoys learning and reading in his free time and is working on getting his degree from CAC. Anthony has previous experience in dog boarding, training, and rattlesnake handling.
Kristi Ray moved to Casa Grande from her hometown in Washington state. She spends her free time adventuring, hiking and capturing photos with her spouse and two canine companions; Bandit & Bear. Kristi has a strong compassion for all animals and is an advocate for shelters and dog rescues abroad. She has her Associates’ Degree, and hopes to pursue a Bachelors’ Degree in Veterinary Technology.
Breanna Moya has joined our team as a member of our weekend kennel staff. Breanna received her Vet. Assistant certificate in May of 2017 from Carrington College and has three dogs of her own. She enjoys riding in her Teryx with her family and friends through our nearby mountains and trails in her free time.
Angela Mosher is a Veterinary Technician from Seattle, Washington. She graduated from Pima Medical Institute as a Licensed Veterinary Technician in 2016. She loves to spend her time off with her 2 children, her boyfriend, and 2 dogs Snuffles & Clover. Having a strong compassion for animals, she knew at an early age she wanted to work in veterinary medicine.
