Dr. Mari Thouvenelle

Dr. Thouvenelle began working at Small Animal Clinic in 1995. She graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University. She additionally obtained a Ph.D in Veterinary Pathology from Iowa State University. Dr. Thouvenelle and her husband live in Casa Grande with their wonderful Italian Greyhound, Gemma. She has enjoyed raising Guide Dog for the Blind puppies with her daughters.

Dr. Jerome Biwer

Dr. Biwer is originally from North Dakota. He graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State. He additionally has a Master of Science degree in Veterinary Pathology. Dr. Biwer lives with his wife in Casa Grande. He enjoys bee keeping and woodworking when he can. His favorite cat, Jordan, can be found supervising the Customer Service staff at the Small Animal Clinic.


Victoria Vasquez is a Kennel Tech here at SAC and has been a part of the team since 2015. She graduated from Carrington College and earned her certification as a Veterinary Assistant. She is originally from El Paso, Texas but moved to Casa Grande, Arizona to finish school and be close to her family. She owns two cats named Rain and Jazz who love to cause trouble. She does Photography as a hobby, reads books and writes in her spare time.


Renee’ has over 22 years’ experience in the Veterinary field. She received her certification in 1998, and has been working for the Small Animal Clinic for over 16 years. Her passion for her patient’s health and well-being is always her first priority. Renee’ strives to treat every patient as if they were her own pets.

When she is not at the Small Animal Clinic Renee’ enjoys hunting and camping with friends and family.

Renee’ strives towards continuing her education on the most current and best ways to serve her patients.


Gabby Flores is a Veterinary Assistant. She has been working with the Small Animal Clinic since 2013. Starting as a Kennel Technician and moving up to Veterinary Assistant. She attended Carrington College and received her certification for Veterinary Assistant. She enjoys road trips with her husband, going to the movies, and spending time with family.


Lacey is a born and raised Arizona native and spent her school years in Casa Grande. She attended the Veterinary Assistant program at Apollo College after high school and started her career with the Small Animal Clinic in November 2005. Lacey was a Vet. Assistant for several years, but currently is part of our Customer Service Team!

Lacey loves working with animals and being able to help make pets and their owners feel comfortable and have a positive experience. She likes to draw blood, place IV catheters, and is very good with restraint. Although she’s not assigned as a Tech. Assistant, she still lends a hand when needed.


Donna Craven is the Practice Manager at the Small Animal Clinic. She earned her BS/BA from the University of Phoenix in 2000, then Certified Professional Bookkeeper from Universal Accounting in 2011. Donna and Wade live in Arizona City with their 3 dogs, Rylee, Shelby and Bruce. They enjoy spending time with family, hiking and cheering on the Arizona Cardinals.


Dina Garland is a new member of our Kennel staff. Dina completed her Veterinary Assistant training through San Juan College and will start the Technician program Fall 2017. Dina and her family recently moved to Casa Grande from Farmington, NM. Dina and her husband enjoy rebuilding their 55 Buick Special, going to swap meets, and taking their daughter to the zoo. “We love playing with our daughter as much as we can, and snuggling with our two cats, Mr. Meows & Pork Chop.”


Rebecca Rebecca started her career as a Veterinary Assistant in 2008. Her passion for furry felines makes her a great candidate for handling stressful cases, but that that does not exclude our other four legged friend from getting the best care. With Small Animal Clinic being AAHA accredited, Rebecca strives to provide a high standard of care and a stress free experience for your pet. What she enjoys most about working in the Veterinary field is being able to educate pet parents and mentor staff.

During her time away from work her heart lies with family, friends and her pack of pets. Rebecca also enjoys spending her free time on continuing education courses to further broaden her career.


Marilyn Robertson is a new member of our team.


Yessenia Torrez is a new member the the SAC Customer service team. She is currently taking on line courses through DeVry University to earn her degree. Yessenia stays busy with her family and an American Bulldog named Chubby, and looks forward to meeting our SAC community.


Matthew Vasquez graduated from Carrington College’s Veterinary Assisting program in 2016. He plans to continue his education by completing the Veterinary Technician program through Penn Foster. Matt loves helping and working with both wild and domestic critters. In his free time, Matt enjoys spending time with family, fishing and camping.
